MERCYSEAT

A Place to Find Forgiveness of Sin

ringing gavels

gavels ringing in my ears
paralyzing choking the flow
from the red river
through it's incessant verdicts,
turning oneself in on oneself
can't escape it's oratory walls,
molding one into a shallow echo of a deeper Spring.

DEEP DOWN

In Yeshua I find my Shabbat alone,
while others for life to attain, strive to the bone.
In His atonement, Shalom I find,
all else issues forth from in-wrought works Divine.

Hidden Hook

It looked like another day in the dead,

another victim caught up in grandeur,

an easy prey lay hanging, languishing

supposedly for a noble cause.

But now something,  strangling, constraining, draining,

Alas, I've gone too far with this Fisherman!

WINDOW WASHER
A window blackened with soot so thick,
leaves rustling leaving no clue,
only a certain water will do...
applied... slowly... an image emerges,
revealing outside what seems the opposite within.
A land Eternal...a Lion the Lamb
beckoning through the pane,
clearer...clearer...with each rain

A Breath away

A Breath away,

From Life

To Death,

A sigh and then a bye, no fragility could have handled it carefully enough,

But a rope was given ...one hand refused another embraced,

One too short, the other everlasting,

The train whistle has faded,

Eternity has etched it's deep imprint.

Little guy

Where the rug is blank,
There was faithfulness.
His missing presence is the hardest to take.
Christmas came in like a snowflake and left as a thief.
Taking with it the little guy who's affection was unconditional.

For Good Friday

IT ALL CAME TOGETHER

It all came together there,

In a hideous display,

Of the penalty due us.

Our Creator on a cross?

Bleeding? Suffering? Dying?

It’s no little thing.

A thing of crushing weight’

No sinful mortal can bear,

Either to ponder,

Or to stare.

Into the great Meaning,

That gives us Life

From your Blood,

Make us care.

REST

Lord, let me rest in your perfect righteousness,
That I may renew my strength to serve you.

But before you allow that rest,
Let me see my perfect sinfulness,
That I may truly hunger for your mercy,
And find grace sufficient to lead me to that rest found only in YOU.

INFANT ARTISTRY

Bach, pausing on his clavichord, listened in awe.

Caravaggio, through tearful eye, layed down his pallete.

Michelangelo, with shaking hands, could barely follow the curvatures;

As they beheld their Incarnated Creator/Saviour,

Crying in an ox trough,

Clothed in human rags,

Shaping sounds, sights,and form-

Infinitely beyond their created /creative imaginations

...and ours.

HE DIDN'T ˝ 2

HE DIDN'T ˝  2

He didn't have to become one with us

He didn't have to walk with us

He didn't have to talk with us

He didn't have to promise us

He didn't have to plead with us

He didn't have to put up with us.

He didn't have to take our insults

He didn't have to take our sin

He didn't have to take our punishment

nor the pain due us.

He didn't have to forgive us.

He could have just watched

and walked away,

to plant another garden....

WE WOULD HAVE

SUBMERGENT

Slipping off the Rock,

Emerging into the OOze.

Many sheep on a journey...to anywhere...nowhere...by no one they knew.

The wolf in a lamb's coat with no name, bleating blurred words-

Leading them into a dark medieval swamp.

Fig Leaves

  Quick hide, someone is coming,
keep it up, the noise will drown out the voice,
another party, another fantasy, another toy.
Pile it on, he draws closer, my spots are beginning to show, my time is short,
Slam! A coffin door,... my last hiding place.
